Kate Walsh to leave ‘Grey's’ for spinoff

ABC has decided to pursue a “Grey’s” spin-off with sexy neonatal surgeon Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd (played by the lovely Kate Walsh) as the lead character, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal.



The pilot has yet to be finalized and “Grey’s” creator Shonda Rhimes has yet to decide on a title.

However, Rhimes recently filled the cast in on the idea and revealed she will write a special two-hour episode to serve as the pilot, with a likely debut in May, according to the report.Walsh joined the “Grey’s” cast in May 2005, appearing towards the end of the season one finale.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, ABC had no further comment beyond what was in the Wall Street Journal article.

In order to focus on the project, Rhimes has reportedly back-burnered “Correspondents,” another pilot she was working on starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Katherine Heigl’s patient love interest Denny Duquette.

Trista and Ryan Sutter of The Bachelorette are expecting their first child, the couple tell PEOPLE exclusively.

"We are so happy after two years of trying," Trista says.

Ryan, 32, a Colorado fireman, got the news from Trista, 34, a purse designer, when he flew into Denver International Airport on Dec. 18 after participating in a mountain expedition in Argentina.

"He was completely windburned and his lips were dry," Trista recalls. "We had a three-hour drive back to our home from the airport and I couldn't wait to tell him, so I pulled him aside to a quiet part of the baggage claim area and told him there."

Adds Ryan, "I am happy to be able to finally be a dad."

The couple won't know the gender of their child until the summer; Trista is currently 14 weeks along.

"I've had horrendous morning sickness," she admits, "but everyone says that is a sign of a healthy pregnancy."

The couple met while taping The Bachelorette in 2002. They married in a televised 2003 special on ABC.

Well, it's happened. . . I really miss the Mazda Mouse!! Awww, gone are the days when Holly can run over a curb or hit a light pole or while unloading her purchases ram the cart into the side of the car and not care about it. I know you all miss your high school cars. . . admit it. Steph's car. . .haha. . . didn't the passenger side door always stick shut or something like that? And remember when we hit that bird on the way to our Rooney concert? Ann's wagon was sexy. Maggie had the starship enterpirse! (is Jody still driving it?) and Charley everytime I see Steph Roy driving your old car, I forget and think I'm like 16 again. Awhhh. And in memory of our high school cars. . .
