Question of the Week

This Week's Question:

What did Santa fail to bring you this year?

ILLICIT ROUNDUP

I love it when you call me big Papa

In a milestone year of church leaders being outed, the NY Daily News reports on rampant speculation in Italy that Pope "Eggs" Benedict is gay.

The allegations aren't credible, since the evidence is based, in part, on the fact that he buys red Prada shoes. (If one's wardrobe makes him gay, then every Pope in the history of the Catholic Church is gay.) Most of the foundation around the rumors circulate around the Pope's private secretary, Monsignor Georg Gänswein, pictured above, who is described as the "handsome, blond, 50-year-old amateur pilot, tennis player and former ski instructor," which, I suppose, is mildly hot.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the Pope came out of the closet? I'm not saying this just because I pray for a delicious Vatican sex scandal every night. (I used to pray for a Republican sex scandal every night, but that prayer has already been answered.)

See, when celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris or Lance Bass come out, there isn't much of a ripple effect anymore, save for a few Doogie Howser and *NSync fan club treasurers whose pipe dreams are crushed like the ice in my fountain drink.

But if Vatican CEO Ratzinger admits he's gay, holy see ... that coming out party will have seismic shifts great than if George W. Bush admits that he and Laura had an abortion after a coke-fueled night of stem cell destruction and the formation of a London Bridge with Michael Moore and Osama bin Laden. Either the Pope will advance gay rights in the church, or women will be allowed into leadership roles greater than "Head Supervising Nun," or, the Vatican will start allowing priests to marry, or, perhaps, all hell will break loose, literally, and the next Pope will unleash the Illuminati and declare war on anything that isn't 100% heterosexual.

Blogdiddy BlogBlog

Sooo....New Years Party this year?? Any takers?

and who's all in the LC currently? Steph wants to go see a movie sometime this week. She will go alone if she has to (or even take Marc to Rocky ...6??) but if anyone would like to also see a movie, they should ride with her. k thanx.

OH YEAH!! Steph also has "9 to 5" with Dolly Parton, that is new and unwatched so people can come over to see that if they are curious to see Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and DP all in one film. Also Steph is done talking about herself in the 3rd person, because..well...its just getting awkward at this point.

Just to let you know...

NBC has started posting full episodes of their TV shows online too. I have to say, it's about time. I never have any time to watch television, so basically I've only been watching shows that I can see online at ABC's website. Which would be Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and occassionally Desperate Housewives.

BUT! If you are into the genius storytelling that Lost is known for, but possibly even better, and without having to catch up on multiple seasons on dvd, you should totally go to NBC in your downtime or free time and try out:

I highly recommend it. It's amazing. Plus, the show is on hiatus over winter break, so its the perfect time to catch up before the new episodes come back.

Seriously do it.

I'm also excited cause this means I can finally watch some of 30 Rock the new show with Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, and the loveable Jane Krakowski--I don't even know where I've seen her besides "Everwood" and previews for "Ally McBeal" (never watched the show), but I love her. Oh yeah, there was also the 'Goodbye Earl' music video.....Anyways, I had heard so much about it but never got to see the premiere and haven't had the opportunity to catch anything since.

So over break, when you're bored, here's another way to get some free and fresh television since all of our regular shows will be on reruns till February.

But don't abuse this new fun information as a tool for procrastination. Some of us still have finals to come!
