I Lurve My Red-Hooded Sweatshirt!

Okay, so recently I have had my Golf sweatshirt in the backseat of my car, because I went somewhere and didn't know if I'd need a jacket or not. Well, it has just been sitting in there for about 2 weeks, because I just don't want to take it out. I would rather believe that I'll get to wear it soon. Just because I really miss it and haven't worn it since last winter. Anyways...today it started raining! So I grabbed it and got to wear it for a little while. It's no longer chilly nor wet, but I don't care. I am now happy.

Also, quick update on my situacion de Espanol. The class I tested into doesn't fit my schedule, so I'm taking the one above that (I'll actually have to work to regain my spanish skills to keep up) but I went today and loved it. I understood everything said in the class, I just have to refresh my vocab and get in the habit of thinking quickly in spanish first again (rather than think--translate--speak). But it should be good. I already love la professora. Her name is Jody, but she reminds me nothing of Maggie's hermano. Which is mucho bueno, si?

(Edited: My Human Rights teacher wore a t-shirt that said "The Bruce" today. I could tell that it was homeade..probably for a concert he attended with my old Brucie teacher)

Enough of me. SG

I absolutely hate my Media Writing Class.

It's all about writing Op-Eds, and Press Releases, and Newspaper articles...and while I realize that yes, those are forms of media writing, I want the other classes teaching scriptwriting for television and film. Why couldn't I have gotten one of those teachers.

"No Blokes in the Class, Aye?"

I should correct myself. I was completely wrong about my Human Rights class. It is ALL white females like myself. Of course. How could I be so nieve.

And with the exception of 2 boys so is my Cultural Diversity in the Media Class. I already love it. The instructor isn't much older than me, and actually refuses to be called anything but Natasha. No Mrs./Professor or anything...untill she finishes her PhD. Then she'll make us call her Dr. But anyway she's from Ireland so I naturally love her accent. PLUS before teaching at Webster she taught in Canada and Texas. Is this not the perfect teacher for me? I think she likes me already since I have freckles and my last name is the name of a bay & county in Ireland. Today she introduced me to the word "mimbo" as in "Steven from Laguna Beach is a 'mimbo' = male bimbo". (I thought Kayla might appreciate that. See now she likes my instructor too ;)

And have you SEEN the 17 comments? Did someone post the blog link on a website, or are we just getting lots of hits since Maggie used the words 'gay' and 'theater' numerous times recently?

The Tiny Woman from Buenos Aires

So today I had my Spanish class. As I thought I am too 'advanced' (I'm not being snotty, blame Mrs. Bond) for it, so I have to take a placement test to test out of it.

Although I will leave it a bit sadly. The professor, Maria (a.k.a. the tiny woman from Buenos Aires) is absofrickenlutely hilarious. And so freakishly small. But she's a little ball of fire I tell ya.

Today when teaching the difference between informal and formal (tu and Ud.) she made people wear ties, and said, "There now your formal" and had them say a sentence the other way. I bet her class will be fun.

Oh well, off to Human Rights. I'll probably be one of the only white (and straight) girls in there.

-Steph

PS, Maggie if you have an affair with your gay-scotland-professor I will kill you! (Or be one of the few guests willing to show their face at the wedding--unless we have to come dressed as the hippies)

schadenfreude: Dictionary.com Word of the Day

" schadenfreude: a malicious satisfaction in the misfortunes of others. "

Is it sad that when I saw this, I immediately laughed and thought of me....

Me laughing at the terrified faces of old women I almost hit in front of K-Mart...

Me laughing at Charlie being taken down by Martha in the parking lot...

Me laughing at Charley laying on the ground at State Speech...

Actually I also pictured Maggie's face laughing at all these things with me so...she is just as evil as I.

Off we go to the next leg of our journey

It's hard to believe that it's time for us to head off to college. It just doesn't feel like it's time for us to be going to college. But i guess that i knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I know that we are all going to accomplish so much in our lives and that this is just one small step into the next plaform of our lives. I'm glad that many of us will be so close to each other that we will be in constant contact, but even if we were millions of miles appart we would still keep in touch. I just hope that we all reach new highs in our lives. We are now finally able to leave our high school lives behind us, while still being able to keep our friendships. I hope everyone the best with starting college and i'm sure i'll be talking to you all soon.

I miss...

Sucking helium and singing on the Golf Van.

Besides that, I have missed alot on the blog lately. And can I just say how ashamed I am that Maggie created a post by the name of a Milli Vanilli song? Yes you did. Whether you realized it or not. And it was WRONG. I hope you learn from this mistake and can better prosper in life in the future.SG

Mission: All-night Movie Marathon; Status: Complete/Successful

It has now come to a close. The people are gone, the night is over, and the mess is cleaned up. Yes, i am proud to say that i'm still going strong at 8 am. I have not taken a nap or been to sleep yet, but i have cleaned up the house so there isn't a single sign of the party left. I now am going to go get ready for church so i can get my 24 hr. period of no sleep. Is this the best thing to do 4 days before i go to college? Probably not. But it will be something that i will remember for a long time. Thank you to everyone that came and made it such a wonderful time. I hope that you all enjoyed it. And who will ever forget Jon with the bunny? Now i've got to go shower up. Talk to you all later.

Progress Report

And then there were three. We are in the 10th hour of the All-night Movie Marathon. The final contenders are Me, Nick, and Tyler. We've watched Garden State, 6 Days and 7 Nights, Van Wilder, and The Royal Tanenbaums. And we plan on going to church in the morning. I'm now going to end this post. Oh, there were 11 of us here tonight, but now it's down to the elite, those that believe that sleep is a luxury that can only be fully appreciated when you're deprived of it. So live long, stay safe, and always try to have a good time.

Godstock

Forget whatever you have previously thought about religious music... this isn't your normal church choir singing gospel music. Tonight was so much fun, i wish you all could have been there and seen it. If you ever have the chance to listen to Mercy Me you should go and listen. They sound amazing and have so much energy. I truely do wish that all of you could have come. I may not go to a lot of concerts, but i have been to a few that involved many of the biggest stars at the time. And i can honestly say this was a more exciting concert than any of those. I had my reservations but they've been diminished. I hope that some day all of you can go watch something like it to experience what it's really like. You may not believe me, or take my word for it, but i can truely say that going to a religious concert (especially one that involves a big name like Mercy Me) would be worth your time and money. Hope that you remember this and check it out sometime. Later.

Reid
