I'm Actually Doing It.
Today I decided to start building my official "collection" (and oh yes, I say "collection" because it will be a treasure, a group of precious items, a... well...collection) of cds.
Yep. I'm no longer going to waste my time (and money) on just occassionally downloading great songs that I like and randomly burning cds, just for the time being that I wish to hear these songs, and then lose/throw them away, and do it again when I feel like listening to some of those songs months later.
Now, I will be slowly building up my collection of great music by buying the real albums, and preserving them, so that I can listen to them for the rest of my listening abilities (I think I'll go deaf before I die, it's just a feeling).
So tonight, I started with two of early (and still)greats. Willie Nelson (The Essential 2-disc set) and the Ultimate Dolly Pardon set. Why these two? I have no idea. But I was just mesmerized by them while I browsed Wal-Mart waiting for my oil change to be finished. And I do love them both. They are each amazing in their own right. PLUS I got an extra little bonus when I looked at Willie's cd after I got home. I didn't initially realize that it had a duet with Steven Tyler (AEROSMITH BABY!) and U2 (WHOO!). It also has some with Merle Haggard and Ray Charles, but I saw those before I purchased it. ANYWAYS...I am collecting treasure whilst ceasing to pirate. If that makes any sense.

Holy shit! Kelly Clarkson just covered a Ray Lamontagne song! I love her even more now!
Today is just full of surprises. Oh I'm watching the ReAct now Relief Concert by the way. And none of you probably listen to Ray Lamontagne, but I love him, he's one of those indie guys like Mraz, James Blunt, Marc Broussard, and Raul Midon (remember trumpet man?) that I love.
I'm very long winded in my posts tonight.
Oh yeah, and I also love Rob Thomas more every time he covers a song from a female in the 80s. He's done a georgeous cover of Madonna's "Borderline" and just now did Cindy Lauper's "Time After Time" with just him and a guitar. I heart him. I think it's time he goes on my lobster list.

They better be selling this shiznit on cd or dvd (and send profits for Katrina) because there have been some awesome performances. Love Sheryl Crow and Bon Jovi. Here comes U2. I know I will enjoy it ;)

Yay! Speaking of Marc Broussard he just performed. I really love this song (Home) I should send it to you all. It kinda sounds like this bayou 90-yr old black man, but really its this white kid in his 20's with a lovely growl to his voice.
EEEEEEEE!!!!! Melissa Ethridge!
I love how I'm just sitting here talking to myself.
Holy crap, she wrote a whole new song for the show. I have to be quiet now.
AHHH!@!! ACAPELLA!
